Please note that I limit my focus to what I do best: portraits. I do not have my focus varied by shooting weddings and other events. I love the connection I get during a photo shoot to bring out the best in each subject. There is just so much more control of the lighting and the situation to get the client what he or she wants in a portrait setting. Moreover, the atmosphere is much more relaxed than at a formal affair such as a wedding and it shows in the results.
I strive for contemporary, yet classic, images that could be at home in Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Town and Country, or portraits that look at home in a modern downtown loft, in a country place in Kingston Springs, or a Belle Meade home. Although I made my reputation shooting upscale black and white portraits evoking the prestige of the golden age of Hollywood with an added contemporary edge, I also love to produce striking vivid color portraits and portfolios for my clients. Moreover, with experience working as a professional at both a Fortune 500 Company and a major law firm (Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry), I know what executives expect in a headshot and in the portraits they display of their families.
Before you dismiss the idea of a black and white portrait I want you to consider three of the biggest style icons of the 20th century: Marilyn Monroe, Princess Grace (Grace Kelly) and Princess Diana. Moreover, Ralph Lauren and his Polo advertising campaigns and Abercrombie and Fitch have brought black and white photography to a whole new generation. Although literally millions of images exist of them exist in color, the images that endure first in our memory are the black and white images. I believe photo shoots should be fun and pricing should be simple. I only schedule one photo shoot per day. A shoot typically lasts from 3-4 hours to get a variety of poses, clothing changes and backgrounds. If you desire, we can take some outdoor shots at my private 90 acre estate style farm 2 miles away for outdoor locations, water locations, rustic shots in the older buildings and shoots in the horse stable straight from a movie set.
Moreover, with Studio S, you get a DVD disc of ALL your shots to use with a copyright grant to copy your images, place them on the web and make prints as you please! No more buying package "deals" forcing you to buy prints you do not need. Most studios charge a low sitting fee for an hour or less sitting and then charge outrageous rates for print packages.
